Bristow's Story

                                                                                             1731 -1814

Bristow's story is the story of slavery in New England. He was trafficked from Africa, fought in the French Indian War and at age 44 bought his freedom.  His life represents all the others whose voices we don’t hear.  All 8th  graders in town learn his story .  One of the middle schools in West Hartford is named after him.
